Above the Sea of Clouds
Far below the surface, wrapped in a magical dome, lies the water town of Naias. On the night the ceiling of the sea broke open, Daphne — an apprentice Water Listener — and her black cat Pyxis stepped out beneath a real sky for the first time. Clouds stretched away like an endless sea, and above them floated islands of bare rock.
The story now unfolds above that sea of clouds. But the water town is still down there, still glowing.

ABOVE THE CLOUDS
A first step into the sky.
Daphne was born and raised on the sea floor, and now she stands beneath a real sun for the first time. A white sea of clouds, rocky islands adrift on it, airships passing between them. Even Pyxis, a cat who had never known weather, feels the wind against his fur at last.
Thank you for spending this time with us in the water town. The earlier chapters and the town of Naias will stay here on this site, so you can always come back to the sound of the water.
